VRM temperature
VRM temperature is the heat of the voltage regulator circuitry supplying the CPU or GPU, which throttles the whole component if it overheats.

Not measurable from a browser
A browser cannot read temperatures, power draw, fan speed, VRAM capacity, clock frequency or native FLOPS. For a direct reading use a native monitor such as HWiNFO64, GPU-Z or lm-sensors. SystemCheck contributes the other half: whether the condition is costing you throughput, measured as decay and consistency.
The voltage regulator module converts 12 V from the power supply down to the roughly 1 V the chip needs, at very high current. Conversion losses become heat in the MOSFETs and inductors. On boards with weak VRM cooling and a high-core-count CPU, the VRM can reach its own limit and throttle the processor even while the CPU die is comfortably cool.
This is a genuinely confusing failure because every CPU-focused reading looks healthy. Symptoms are a sudden clock drop under sustained all-core load on a budget board with a high-end chip, often with no correlated CPU temperature rise. Direct airflow over the VRM heatsinks frequently fixes it outright.
SystemCheck cannot read VRM temperature. Browsers have no access to any hardware sensor, and many motherboards do not even expose a VRM sensor to software. Check it in HWiNFO64 if your board reports it, or with an infrared thermometer or thermal camera if it does not. SystemCheck will show you the decay this causes, but attributing it to the VRM specifically requires hardware monitoring.
