Delta T

Delta T is the difference between a component's temperature and the ambient air, and it is the only fair way to compare cooling across rooms and seasons.

Not measurable from a browser

A browser cannot read temperatures, power draw, fan speed, VRAM capacity, clock frequency or native FLOPS. For a direct reading use a native monitor such as HWiNFO64, GPU-Z or lm-sensors. SystemCheck contributes the other half: whether the condition is costing you throughput, measured as decay and consistency.

An absolute temperature reading is meaningless without the room it was taken in. A CPU at 80 °C in a 20 °C room and one at 90 °C in a 30 °C room have identical 60 °C deltas and identical cooling performance. Comparing raw temperatures between two users, or between summer and winter on your own machine, is comparing rooms as much as coolers.

Delta T is also the right way to track degradation over time. If your delta at a fixed load grows from 55 °C to 68 °C over two years, the cooling system has genuinely degraded (dust, dried paste, a failing pump), and the change is real regardless of what the room was doing.

SystemCheck cannot measure delta T because it cannot read either the component temperature or the ambient temperature. Log the component side with HWiNFO64 and measure ambient with a cheap thermometer near the intake. What SystemCheck contributes is the performance side of the same story: whether the degraded cooling has begun to cost you throughput.
