Should I upgrade RAM, upgrade the SSD, or buy a new laptop?

Two readings decide it in five minutes. Open Task Manager during your normal work: if memory sits above ninety percent, RAM is your bottleneck. Check whether the system drive is mechanical: if it is, an SSD is the single biggest upgrade available to any old laptop. If neither is true and it still feels slow, the answer is cooling or the machine's ceiling.

The order that fixes most for least: cooling service first (free performance already paid for), then SSD if mechanical, then RAM if pressure shows it, then replacement when the measured ceiling no longer fits the work.
