Does fast charging damage a laptop battery?
It contributes to ageing, modestly, because charging quickly produces heat and heat is what wears lithium cells. Laptops manage this deliberately, slowing the charge as the battery fills and pausing it when the machine is hot, so the effect is far smaller than the internet suggests.
If you want to protect the battery, the habits that matter more are keeping it off 100 percent when it lives on a desk and keeping the machine cool. Those two outrank charging speed considerably.
