How do I know if my GPU is the bottleneck?
Lower the resolution or the graphics settings and watch the frame rate. If it rises a lot, the graphics card was the limit. If it barely moves, the processor, memory or the game engine is holding it back instead. That two-minute check is more reliable than any bottleneck calculator.
A graphics card being the limit is not a fault. In most games at high settings the GPU is supposed to be the busiest part. It only matters when the frame rate is lower than you want, and then the fixes are settings, cooling, or a faster card.

Improve airflow, clean the cooler, and on a laptop use a hard surface. This restores performance you already paid for.

The fix
Plug in, choose the manufacturer's performance mode, and check the card's rated wattage, which varies widely between laptops sharing one GPU name.
4. The card is genuinely too slow for the game

The fix
Upscaling such as DLSS, FSR or XeSS can help substantially. Beyond that, a faster card is the fix.
Measure it instead of guessing
